Had enough of Twitter — Ready for Bluer Skies

I haven’t actively used Twitter for a while now. My most recent usage was mostly sharing the odd blog post or once in a while interacting with some other software engineering posts from other devs that I follow/follow me.

Twitter has become much more chaotic, far less enjoyable, and just plain toxic. You don’t have to scroll long before seeing something sexual, kids being bullied, people getting into serious accidents, even instances of domestic violence, child abuse and “moments before death”.

Nit long ago, I watched a video of a woman in a gas station wielding what looked to be an axe similar to the one below.

I have been thinking of un-installing the app for a while now, but I could never really commit to it. Maybe I was hoping it might return to it’s former glory — or perhaps become even better.

This post, however, presented such a blatant example of the toxicity the app has come to harbor that I’ve decided finally just uninstall it. I’ve seen some bad posts before, but this post, for some reason, just felt like enough for me.
