Things to Consider Before Selling Your Stock

Congratulations! If you’ve made it this far, you’ve successfully bought some stock and are in a position where you think you’re ready to sell. You’re selling for one of three reasons.
- You made a profit and you want to realize it.
- You’re at a loss and you’d rather get out now.
- You’re not in bad or good shape, but you want money free for another opportunity.
I sincerely hope you’re here because you’ve fallen under #1 or at least #3. If, however, you’re under #2, hopefully the losses aren’t too bad.
Regardless of the which scenario you fall under above, you’re trying to decide whether or not you should sell. Before you sell, there are a few considerations that I think are important to have.
